Women’s Suffrage Protest ( Extension Project )

This term for year 7-8 extension we have been learning about New Zealand protest. We had to pick out of a couple of protests and I picked the Women’s Suffrage Protest. Kate Sheppard was the women who got the government to give women the rights to vote for their own parliament government. For this term we had to create a scratch project explaining the point of views people in the times of the women’s suffrage petition including the women who wanted to vote, and the men who didn’t think women deserved it. I chose this protest because I already knew the most about this topic and how it was unfair that women couldn’t do the same things that men were allowed to do. Like how women weren’t allowed to vote for their choice of parliament all around the world.  Because of Kate Sheppard New Zealand was the first country to let their women vote.
